We asked Griffin a few questions so you could get to know him better:

What are some of your hobbies?

I love to read—not just for church purposes—I love to read fiction and especially Southern fiction. I can't wait to finish my doctorate so that I can go back to reading what I want to read and not just what I have to read. Beyond that, I like to play pickleball and tennis. Occasionally, I will play an embarrassing round of golf. One hobby I have is movies! Going to the movies is one of my favorite activities, even if I go alone. If you want to talk to someone about movies, I'm your guy. Most of all, I love to play with my kids: sometimes that means a tea party and sometimes that means hide and seek! As long as it's with my kids, I am happy!

What's your favorite candy?

That's a tough one. I would probably say it's a runoff between Biscoff cookies and Reese's Cups. Although, last year one of our members got us a pack of See's Candy suckers, and that shot up to the top of the list.

Favorite sports teams?

I am a graduate of Auburn University, so for me it's all things Auburn. That's a bit of an emotional rollercoaster sometimes. Auburn is not for the faint of heart. I'm a big Braves fan. Rachel and I went to Game 6 of the NLCS during the Braves championship run in 2021! I'm also a big fan of Rory McIlroy in golf,

Favorite thing to do in Morgan County?

To me, the best thing about Morgan County is the slower pace of life. My favorite thing to do is to take the long way home and see friends along the way, working in the yard or playing with their kids. I also love our food scene, and love to take my wife on date nights to Town 220!

How are you using your passion and calling to serve MBC?

I love to teach God's Word and to be with people. At MBC, I spend most of my time doing those two things, and it is the great privilege of my life. I am so grateful to be the pastor here.
